Truths and lies

Talents
1). I took 3rd place for Textile art, Counted cross stitch category at the Topsfield Fair in 2000 for one of my completed works by Teresa Wentzler (Fruit & Floral Wreath). I later sold it for $100 to pay bills.
2). I was invited to sing "He was despised" from Handel's Messiah as a solo in my senior year of high school. I received a standing ovation.
3). My poem "Pomegranate Seeds" took 2nd place at the Providence Athenaeum's Annual New Poet's competition in 1998. I received a prize of $50.
4). A watercolor I painted back in high school earned me a first place ribbon. Considering it was the only watercolor submitted in the watercolor category, that really isn't surprising, is it?
Ancestry:
1). I am a Mayflower descendant.
2). I am a descendant of William The Conqueror
3). I am the descendant of Timothy Howe, Postmaster General, US Senator and delegate to the World Monetary conference.
4). I am descended from Lyman How, the Landlord in "Tales of a Wayside Inn" by Longfellow.

1). False. I've never stitched "Fruit and Flowers", and have never submitted anything for competition because I am considered a professional stitcher. I have stitched models for a local store. Topsfield fair is for amateur stitchers only.
2). True and false. I was invited to sing "He was despised" from Handel's Messiah, but considering it was a religious venue, and one that doesn't believe in applauding religious music, I did not receive a standing ovation. However, considering I had laryngitis up to and after the show, many folks said that my performance was miraculous. Even the director said it was note-perfect.
3). False.
4). False. I did the painting, and it was displayed, but there was no art competition.
Ancestry
1). True. several times over, through several lines. I am also eligible for the Daughters of the American Revolution. I wouldn't be caught dead as a member, though.
2). True. But then, so is most of the population by now.
3). True. He was appointed to replace the postmaster general right after the Star Route Scandal.
4). False. Lyman How didn't have any children. But he is an ancestral relative.

3). True and False. I think according to the Seventh Day Adventist church records, I may very well still be one. However, I do not consider myself one.

5). False. I *may* be a Jew. My great-great-great-great-great-grandmother may have been a Crypto Jew. And if she was, then by Orthodox reckoning, I am too. But I have no way of proving it, and I do not agree with Judaic theology.
