ambitious_wenchAmidst the hugs I am
offered a handful
of *musical notes* by you
They all cluster together
like ants made of ink
quarter notes and four-beat rests
clenched in your fist for me
until you open
and they fall upon my ears
They catch in my hair
I pluck them
for later use in spring.
