I'm reading this over my lunch break. Just what I needed to read! This morning I have managed to get myself all worked up over all this work that should have been done hours ago (I work in the corporate world)and said work is Kicking my Ass! Ironically, I am swamped because my boss has been away on a conference/golf playdate yesterday and today. Not only has my sense of perspective been restored, but when you mentioned "corporate pirates" it reminded me of that skit in Monty Python's Meaning of Life - is it safe to assume that you had it in mind? Regardless, it has cheered me up immensely. I imagine the rest of the day will go a lot better, as I hum various songs from Meaning Life to myself, namely "Every Sperm is Sacred."
