"When I was a little girl," she said, "They told us that every snow flake was unique, no two alike. I thought it was a miracle." Her breath fogged before her face as she spoke, and then drifted to oblivion. "I read an article recently where mathmaticians have declared that it wasn't true, that due to the limited number of configurations possible for ice crystals, that statistically speaking, there would have to be duplicates. I wanted to cry. The uniqueness of the snow flake may have been ficition, but it was a pretty fiction. I wish I hadn't read that article."

the fact that so many snowflakes melt once they touch the road, or are warped over time, doesn't change the fact that two snowflakes looking the same could have existed, but it lessens the chances of two identical snowflakes existing at the very same time

I wonder who spends their time trying to debunk this stuff

Dyl,

Thanks for that insight. Ya know, I suppose that over time, there was probably someone just like me geneticly, but their life wasn't mine, and so they were never me.

Good job, word warrior.
