OK, this was stolen from Panacea1 and TheOneMentat--the poor bugger didn't realize that he'd started a trend. Thena did.

Places I've been, even for a short while.

Chanute AFB, Ranoul, Ill.
(place of birth, I was my mother's discharge from the Airforce)
California, Home sweet home
Maryland to visit grandfather and step grandmother
Washington DC, during a visit to same
Virginia, same
drove to Ohio from MD--and I don't know what route we took.
(it was over 30 years ago!)
Michigan to visit father, and even made it to Mackinac Island, between the Upper penninsula and lower.
I have traveled the entire lengtho of I-5 from the Canadian border (Blaine, WA Peace Arch) to the Mexican border, so that's Oregon and Washington
Hawaii (Oahu and Maui)
Rhode Island
Massachusetts
Vermont
Maine
New Hampshire
Connecticut
New Jersey
New York (Gods, I love the Metropolitan Museum of Art!)

Places out of the US:
Canada
England
Scotland
Italy
Yugoslavia
Greece

Oh, this brings back memories:

The Acropolis at Athens in the early morning, and the unbelievable grandure of the place.
Sunset on Hale Akala on Maui, where it was truly cold, and we had a spectacular view of the tops of the clouds below us
The dogs howling in the woods above Pahukini Heiau in the middle of Honolulu county dump
The Labyrinth Palace at Cnossos, Greece, and the evokative murals of wide-eyed women in curled coiffures carrying pitchers
The ruins of the Abby at St. Andrews, Scotland
The sound of a lone piper the night before I left, and the incredible sunset.
The ceiling of the Sistine chapel, looking at it in a small mirror because I would not be able to stand there with my head back without passing out
The Pieta before it was desecrated by a madman with a hammer, and put into a lexan box.
setting sail from Venice at sunset, and seeing the city afire with the color from the stern of the cruise ship
The marble streets of Dubrovnic, Yugoslavia, and the huge basket of lavender of the old woman who was selling lavender oil in little bottles. That was the strongest oil I've ever smelled.
Fall colors at Sugarbush farms, Vermont
The dizzying drop to the bottom of Quechee Gorge, Vermont
The sight of the firefalls over Bridal Veils(?) falls in Yosemite, something they have since abandoned. During the summer, at night they would build a large fire at the top of the falls, and then let it burn down to glowing coals. Then they would shove it over the edge of the dry fall bed, creating a glowing cascade to the valley floor. It was beautiful to watch. However, it was dangerous because of the extreme fire hazard if the coals weren't completely out when they hit the ground.
The coast of Oregon.
Chuckanut drive in Everett, Washington in fall on a Harley
West Shore Road in summer along the bluff of Whidbey Island, a bald eagle gliding along side of us, but over the ocean. Again, on a Harley.
Penn cove like a mirror with whisps of vapor rising from the water at sunrise.
Deception Pass as the tide is turning.
Cider season in Connecticut.
Waterfire in downtown Providence, there the river has special firebaskets anchored down the middle, and each night they light fires in them. It's a beautiful sight to see in the evenings.
Providence Renaisance.
Hearing a trumpet player practising The Brandenburg Concerto in Grace Cathedral in San Fransisco
Mocking birds in Hawaii
Eating Mangoes from the tree.
Ditto Macadamia nuts.
Ditto Guava (yuck!)
Ditto Papaya
Ditto Mountain Apples (YUM!)
Standing naked in the Nu'u Anu Pali waterfalls after an hour's hike through the heat and humidity.
Chipping ice an inch thick off the leading edges of our car in a gas station on the far side of the Siskioos in Oregon.
Seeing "A Chorus Line" in London, and listening to the various American accents of the characters deteriorate as the show progressed into British dialects.
my own bed at the end of the day. Every day.

I don't have opinions. I have experiences.

I don't have opinions.

Would you agree with me if I were to say the same thing?

That's tough question to answer, Al. I don't think I would, though. I would wonder if you were as prone to poetic hyperbole as I am--and wonder again at just howm much there is to astrology.

Fair enough?

I'm not sure I understood your answer, but I'm not arguing, either.

Well, when I said that I didn't have opinions, I had experiences, I meant it as hyperbole. Exageration.

FWIW, I still have to say that the jury is still out on may issues that others seem to be rock-solid decided on. And as I get older, the more I have...

I can't say that I'd argue with others saying the same thing--but I would wonder if they were likely to use exageration.

And of course, since we are both Scorpios, I'd have to wonder if there isn't something to astrology--are scorpios more likely to exagerate?

Hell if I know.

Well, I'm sure you know that I put no faith in things astrological (although I did look into it extensively when I was in high school, along with hypnosis, witchcraft, and other things that go beyond what has classically been considered the norm), so I doubt my tendency to exaggerate comes from the date of my birth.
