Date: 2008-12-29 05:47 pm (UTC)I do know that when applying for government jobs, you have to give them every document they want. If they want to see transcripts or whatnot, you have to give them or you'll be rejected before they even look at your resume.
Best of luck, paisano!

Date: 2008-12-30 04:02 am (UTC)Several thoughts: there should be another page or two that goes into detail about where and how to submit your application. It might, for instance, have format requirements for a portfolio. If that didn't come in, it's reasonable to call them and ask for it. That would come from an HR office separate from the people who actually need the photographer.
Sounds like they want somebody who can use spanking new fancy equipment that capures all sorts of digital metadata--it would be really nice if they provide that gear. . .Note also that it sounds like this job will involve a fair amount of travel--it's perfectly reasonable to ask for details about that. Another thing you can ask about is relocation assistance; don't count on it, but it's just possible that there's some money available for that. Your LJ profile says you live in CA, so that's worth looking into.
Since the employer is the feds, and there might just be a Bush person reading the resume, strongly suggest you omit lesbianism, pornography and Wicca from it :) The veteran aspect is *very* helpful--it buys you several actual points in the evaluation process--more if you were, say, combat wounded/disabled. Also, your military time can be incorporated into civil service retirement, if you ever get that far.
Good luck, and give me a shot at it. I can see why you'd want that job.
