ambitious_wenchIt was almost 7 years ago that I was introduced to the Internet. Techi and I had moved in together, and she had a 486 computer with a 2600 Baud modem. I asked if it had AOL installed, and she said that it did. I thought a moment and said "I hear you can talk to people all over the world with that...I'd really like that. "
AOL was a good place to start. I've long since outgrown it, but the desire to talk to people all over the world continues. So far I can count friends in Australia, England, Canada, Wales and Scotland as well as all over the continental US.
Today while I was creating my "Trading Card", I took another look at my list of interests. One of the really neat things about LJ is that you can click on one of your interests, and can get a list of other users who have also listed that interest. For giggles, I clicked on "Organic Gardening". It's an impresive list. 204 users have listed "organic gardening" as an interest. There are some great names there: the one that caught my eye was "{split open like a pomegranate}".
I clicked, and read. She's articulate. She's obviously well read. What's really interesting is that her picture reminds me of shadow_5tails!

Date: 2003-07-07 06:32 am (UTC)but i'd be very happy about the irises. they are one of my favorite flowers & my garden has several species.
i will have a bunch of stuff in the fall if you are interested in it -- divisions of daylilies, irises, and coreopsis, and some bulblets from lilies, tuberoses (a summer sweet-smelling flower that is grown in a pot this far north), & probably some spring bulbs too. also some saved seeds, including wild eastern columbine. plus probably more. :)
