The French part helped (I had found some interesting area on the area but nothing about the etymology of the name).
But Grand means large. While I certainly appreciate the appeal of a curvy model, bigger doesn't always mean better. I like to consider the whole package. I'm sure that makes me a traitor to the gender but that's my take.
And to take this back to geological terms (which is where we all started), I can be equally impressed by the a smaller hill built up of glacial scree then a forceful upheaval of a full blown mountain.
It all goes down to the whole effect. Which you definitely have an eye for presenting. Keep sharing those photos.
