Sorry, this is just for my US readers. My Canadian, Australian, and English readers, heads up, this might be interesting.

Has anybody here tried to buy private health insurance within the last year? No, not insurance provided by your employer. Private insurance, stuff you pay for out of pocket by yourself?

What company is it through?

Have you ever been denied payment for treatment, either reimbursed, or up front?

What sort of questions did you have to answer to get covered?

Have you ever had any major illnesses that they paid to treat? How was that experience?

i pay 106$ a month through Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
i got asked the usual questions.
do you smoke ? things like that.

so far they are covering everything. i have a 40$ physician co pay and a 300$ hospital co pay.

so far no major illnesses.

and yes you know me, sort of.
i had you on my old LJ. i am a friend of your son's, Lyndsay.
i made a new one and added everybody from my old one. :o)
