One from the vaults
Oct. 9th, 2007 11:33 pmMy pictures are regularly displayed on the front page of Yosemiteblog.com. No, this really isn't a boast; Loyd has rigged it so that a random selection of photos are displayed from Flickr if they are tagged "yosemiteblog.com".
So I tag any and all shots that way, and periodically I see something from long ago that catches my eye. This one just did.
I find that time away from my images makes me much more critical, and other times makes me wonder why I wasn't gobsmacked after I took the shot.
This one was taken on an overcast day, with rain, and I was tired from the long hike. This is between Vernal and Nevada falls, and is shot looking downstream over the Silver Apron above Emerald Pool at the top of Vernal falls.
It's a brooding image, I think, but the colors are warm and I like the curve of the river and the shapes in the rocks in the foreground and in the upper left of the image.
Enjoy.
