I'll admit to a paranoia that something will happen in mid to late 2008, and the Bush regime will cancel the presidential election.

I haven't given voice to it because it's just that; paranoia.

It seems I'm not the only one thinking the thought, though.

Some of the comments are downright scary. Mass detentions of Democrats, shopping for and storing foodstuffs, talk of a nationwide strike and non-compliance, concentration camps.

I'm leaning more to another stolen election. I find it rather interesting that Jeb Bush hasn't thrown his hat into the presidential ring. I'm also of the mind that it isn't George Bush who orchestrates what is happening. He's being used by others. Rove and Cheney are not above using another candidate. The question I have is who is their new puppet.

I don't think a delayed or cancelled election would ever be allowed to happen. I'm not sure if you remember, but after 9/11, Giuiliani tried to extend his mayoral term (which was set to end at the end of 2001, with elections that November), since the city was in crisis and "needed" him so much. Didn't happen, even with only two months between 9/11 and the election. Everyone agreed that the process was more important.
