The fact that he got the job after being vindicated speaks more to the power of the charges being dropped than the tarnish of the accusation.

Try getting the job after being accused but before being vindicated. Then you'll see the power of the accusation - "Gee, we'd like to hire you, but..."

The reason he got the job was the high-profile nature of the case: hiring him now that he's been declared innocent is a good PR move on Morgan Stanley's part. It's all "touchy-feely" crap. They really don't give a damn about him one way or the other.
