Mostly notes to myself...
Apr. 5th, 2005 08:45 amThese are mostly notes to myself, but you're welcome to see what goes through my head as I prepare for my trip west.
It seems that the nights are cold in the summer at Yosemite. I'm considering taking my electric blanket, but it's a queen size, and will not be easy to pack, and a really big case of overkill on a twin-sized bed. Definitely take one of my solid foam pillows with me. I sleep better on my own pillow. They do provide towels and sheets and blankets and pillows. I'll be taking the $45/week meal plan, as well. No cooking gear required. This is good, I don't really want to pack my dutch oven and fry pan, both of which are cast iron.
Will need clothing for all weather; sweatshirts, tee shirts, tank tops, blue jeans, socks. Need to buy work shoes, uniforms will be provided. Heavy coat, scarves, mittens.
Arriving in the valley at about noon on Friday, May 6th.

Date: 2005-04-05 04:14 pm (UTC)Did someone give you an actual temperature for summer nights in Yosemite? 'Cuz a Californian's definition of "cold" does not generally match that of someone from the East Coast ;-) We camped in Yosemite during May(around Mother's Day), and only required layers, not snow gear.

Lately, it's been in the teens at night.

Date: 2005-04-05 07:18 pm (UTC)Of course, I could be REALLY lucky and have a cute dyke as a roommate while I'm there!
Wheee!
