ambitious_wenchThis is probably one of the most well-written reactions to the uprising of the Neo-Conservative, New-School Republicrats in existance. Make no mistake, Garrison is angry to the point of vulgarity and obscenity. But in spite of his anger, I can still hear his laconic, lulling voice as I read this screed. And I was moved to tears at points by the achingly beautiful portrait of America he painted for me with words.
He makes it very, very clear just what his kind of Democrat is. While Republicans are yammering about the "economic tide that raises all ships", Democrats are busy trying to haul the drowning from the water.
I'd recommend this book to the heart-broken liberal, the couple contemplating Canada, the politically frustrated youth. It'll be an inspiration to them, and I predict that it will galvanize a party, if they would just read it.
