Backstory: Since Attorney John "Annointed One" Ashcroft has stepped down (I can hear cries of "Huzzah!" from here), Bush must select someone to replace him. While I'm still boning up on just what what duties and powers the US Attorney General actually *has*, I do know this: Alberto Gonzales wrote a memo in 2002 advising Mr. Bush that the "nature of the new war" on terror "renders obsolete Geneva's strict limitations on questioning of enemy prisoners and renders quaint some of its provisions."
Why isn't this man in prison?
Now, a name worth listening to: Kay Eaton writes for the good folks over at Ragnarock and Roll. She has a syndicated feed under the title "Eaton it up"
