Technology doesn't fail us. People do. I received a call from my real estate agent regarding the house I showed you yesterday--and was told that as of FRIDAY NIGHT it was under contract, and that it was no longer available. I had called on Sunday, and gotten the listing. It seems that some secretary somewhere hadn't made the change to the database.

How frustrating is that? If I were a real estate agent, I would have found out how to change it and done so myself as soon as the offer was accepted. So that adorable gem of a house is out of my reach, and was out of my reach before I even saw it.

*Sigh*

Hmm. That sucks. You'll will find another cute little house. Good luck!

Oh NO!

Sales sometimes fall through. I hate to wish bad luck on someone, but maybe that buyer won't be able to swing it. Make sure your agent knows that you're interested just in case...

Good luck -- and if this doesn't work, I hope you find something just as perfect!

Advice: Keep an eye on that house, in case the current deal falls through.

It's not really in their interests to do so. Even if they can't sell that house to you any more, they can still use it to get you hungry... and encourage you to snap up the next prospect without stopping to think about it.

Thank you for pointing that out to me, Art. The thought never occured to me that they would do something like that. I guess I would not make a successful real estate agent. But I'd make a good (ethical) one.

Thankfully I have lots of time. I will simply wait and watch carefully.

I'm not saying they'd deliberately do it (though some might). But it's only human nature to pay more attention to the stuff that benefits you than to the stuff that doesn't.

Boo! Bad real estate agent. No bicky!

Keep an eye out... Deor and I looked at bunches of houses before we found this one.
