So, say you were meeting a new person--blind date, new friend, who knows. And you wanted them to have some idea of what kind of person you are, and who you are. But you can't actually tell them in so many words. Instead, you have to give them a box, with a dozen things in it for them to look at/read/listen to/taste/whatever. What would you put in the box? And a copy of your journal or a link to your LJ would be the same thing as just telling them directly, yourself, so that's not allowed.
1. One of my rare finished bits of embellishment work; a Hardanger snowflake, or perhaps a small sampler on linen worked in silk.
2. A Photograph of my grandmother.
3. A copy of "Reflections on a Gift of Watermelon Pickle, with the pages dog-eared at "Overheard on a Saltmarsh" by Harold Monro, and other favorite poems.
4. Heirloom tomato seedlings--Mortgage Lifter, Pink Brandywine, and those tiny spoon tomatoes, no bigger than the tip of my pinkie.
5. A poem of my own making.
6. A smooth, egg-shaped granite stone I picked up on one of the beaches here in Rhode Island
7. A ticket to King Richard's Faire
8. A whimsical Yixing teapot;
9. 50 grams of Masala Chai tea.
10. A copy of "Small Gods" by Terry Pratchett
11. A copy of my tape "Journey Through the Wheel"
12. One single, fragrant blossom of Madagascar Jasmine.
