Awwww, too cute!
Feb. 22nd, 2004 05:46 pmMy grandmother was very fond of images of nude children--getcher minds out of the gutter RIGHT NOW! She siad young children were pretty to look at, that they had such soft curves, and were wonderful to draw. She was a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and I know that she often would draw me as a child, much to my embarrassment as a teen-ager.
I found this delightful image today; It seems that the "French Postcard" studios often produced images of children, too; Usually fully clothed, with "Bonne Fete", or "Bonne Annee" written on them in facy text. Sometimes not.
This image is particularly poignant to me--l get the impression the child is turning away from the camera out of dismay at being in a studio with strangers. It's adorable in any case, and I think it's important to remember that nudity doesn't always equate with pornography.
Enjoy!
