Well, XJournal shit the bed. I'd launch it, it would show the initial "not logged on" page, and beachball. (For you non-mac users, it's this spinning wheel-thingie that looks like a colored beachball; think spinning hour glass sorta fing.) I decided to try the old PC standard, delete and reinstall--but could not get to Frasier Speir's web page; "Could not open after 60 seconds". GAH. I hate it when that happens.
jazzmasterson was the one who recommended XJournal to me in the first place--His impecable taste in interface is right on the money--and for some time I was really happy with XJournal. One I figured out that there were some small bugs to compensate for, it suited my needs nicely. Like the way it would launch all the way to the right hand side of my window--and so the really cool drawer with all my friends and groups and privacy settings could not be seen--I honestly was unaware of that feature for the longest time.
It's NOT Jazz's fault that XJournal shit the bed; In fact, if I could download it and reinstall, I would. I understand beta testing, and have no problem with working around minor inconveniences. Especially when the interface is something truly lovely.
So now I'm using iJournal; I'm reminded of the interface of Semagic; Not as slick, or rounded, or sexy--but very utilitarian and customizable. I like the use of combo-boxes--too bad Max OS X.iii.ii STILL doesn't allow tabbing and arrowing to a selection on a combo box; Dipshits.
Don't get me wrong: I love my Mac. But there are things I really miss about my PC, to this day. It's like the difference between a Harley Davidson and Kawasaki motorcycle, I suppose. They will both get you there eventually. The Harley is prettier, costs more, and is slower. The Kawasaki is faster, lighter, cheaper, ugly as sin, and yet is more comfortable. It also costs more to insure, is more costly to repair.
*Shrug*
I just wish Mac would listen to us users when it comes to drop-down combo boxes.
