Dear Adam;

I hope you remember me, you slept on my sofa in July of 2002. I'm the lady with the zoo--you really liked my iguana, Einstein. Remember? He lived in his cage out on the porch!

I wanted to write you a note telling you how much I really wish you and I had talked while you were here. Yeah, yeah, it's been almost two years, and I'm sorry I haven't written you sooner. It's still true, though. Your mom and I have lots in common, and I'd really like to know what you think and how you feel about stuff. You also are lots like my son, only lots younger.

I'm pretty sure your mom is going to see this, or perhaps Geoffrey, and have you come read it. I'm kinda curious what you call Geoffrey. I usually call him Art because it's shorter to type, and I know he doesn't like to be called "Jeff". I don't blame him, really. I didn't used to like being called "Edie". But I do now, and you are welcome to call me that. If you want to make me laugh, call me "Auntie Edie". *grin*

Your mom is really proud of you, and she's also a bit surprised at how quickly you are growing up. That's ok, you can tell her that all moms feel that way. I think that's a pretty safe assumption, don't you?

Just to let you know, we (Lynn and I, my girlfriend) decided we had too many animals, and so found good homes for them. Yes, Einstein is no longer our pet. He went to this really cool Goth guy who wants to make him comfortable riding on his shoulders.

Our snakes went to a large-snake collector, who has the facilities to keep them in a nice large display room with branches and water for them.

We have 4 cats now. Most of our cats were kinda old, and have passed away. We still have the three dogs--we found a good home for Petey the Pekinese.

Now we just have 2 Ferrets, "Little Friend White One" and Roo. Roo is getting old for a ferret, and will probably not be with us for much longer. Friend-White-One is still young, and when Roo dies, we will probably get a baby ferret to keep her company.

Your mom has bragged that you are going into high-school--I think that's what she said. You should be about 12-13 now, yes? You might not know it, but she posted a picture of you in your school uniform. You are really a good looking kid, Adam. I can say that because I'm not your mom, and so you know it's REALLY true.

I also hear you play D&D--I used to play that when my son, Jeromy, was really little. Man, I wish you could meet Jay (Jeromy). In a weird sort of way, he's like you; I divorced his dad, and married another man. I know that's not exactly like you, but it's kinda the same.

Tell me about your D&D games--I'd love to read your adventures.

Give your mom and Geoffrey hugs for me, would you? They are both really good people, I think. But hey, I could be wrong--I only met them in 3-D for a few days; for all I know they could be aliens who are bent on taking over the world!

Maybe that really wouldn't be so bad, would it?

Hee!

Anyway, I'd love to talk with you if you would like a pen-pal in Rhode Island, USA.

Sincerely,
Edie.
(Psst: don't tell any really big secrets--I haven't made this private, and anyone can read your answer, if you write one. Ask your mom to read it over first, just in case, ok?)
