Brined turkey review

Best. Turkey. Evah.
Moist, if a bit tough. I am not sure that is because it was free range, or if it's a consequence of the salt. Yes, it was a bit salty, but not badly so. The gravy, on the other hand, was salty, made from the drippings in the pan. Again, it was all right because I don't ever salt the potatoes or the stuffing. Going to try less time soaking nest time.
Stuffing was Very Good. The rice added a really good texture, and I will have to make a point of adding it in the future.
But the prize of the meal, IMO, will be the pears. They are chilling now. I took a taste of the syrup in the bottom of the pan--*bliss*.
Pure, unadulterated, joyful, bliss.
This begs to be served warm, with vanilla ice cream. Oh, yes, my pretty, yes it does.
Will take nap, have a glass of mead, and enjoy pears later.
Mmmm, pears...
