Well, it seems that So-damn Insane has been captured. We know he's a butcher, a genocidal maniac. We have heard the stories about how his sons had a taste for putting people into wood chippers feet first. We've heard the stories of his playboy lifestyle.
Now we find out just what kind of country we are.
And this my friends, is where I fear things will go pear-shaped. I think he should be turned over to the international court and tried for crimes against humanity. And I think George W. Bush should go next.
I'm afraid of what we've become. And what will devolve into from here.

Date: 2003-12-15 02:20 pm (UTC)As for Soddin' Insane (as some here calls him) I think the plan is to put him on trial, but let the Iraqis do it. The international community can be there to assist in any way the iraqis want, bu the idea is that he answes to his own people for what he did to them. If they want the death penalty, I have to say that I do not oppose it in principle.
If Saddam is executed, it may mean that Iraqis need no longer fear his return, or that he will escape capture, and that the US and coalition forces can come home sooner. It still does not mean that Bush did the right thing by lying to his country and making an illegal war, killing many conscripts in the process, and I hope that Americans will return a democrat in the next election. I also hope you don't mind me adding you to my friends list.
