I'm going over my mail this morning. I've neglected it far too long, and haven't been filing or deleting as I should.

From The Writer's Almanac:

James Lee Burke said, "I believe that whatever degree of talent I possess is a gift and must be treated as such. To misuse one's talent, to be cavalier about it, to set it aside because of fear or sloth is unpardonable."
*thoughtful consideration*

My weather and garden report says:
Cold today, high of 33. Snow starting tonight, 1-2, then 4-6 inches tomorrow, and an additional 3-5 inches by Saturday night. Let's see, I need to stock the firewood rack outside, and the woodbox in the main living room.
This means that there won't be much attendance at the concert tonight. It means I need to dress warm to protect my voice as well. Oh, and you have to go read today's politically commentary on the storm: [livejournal.com profile] cd332. And if you're offended that I found it hilarious, well, that's your problem, not mine.

From the Devilbunnies mailing list: Lots of good words about Thena's "Fog of War" series. Must find time to read it, must get Fink Commander running so I can get Pan running...Hell, I'll read it on the gateway mailing later. Thena, yes, I will, you know I always read your stuff.

Lauri Sharp FWD'd something about getting rid of Spam forever--Who is Lauri Sharp, and why is she forwarding me stuff about spam? Ooooh, goodie, another candidate for the list of character names for my writing.

From the Argument shop--while the whole HIV/AIDS and apology things seems to be slowing down, now I'm getting lessons on Googlewashing. Lots of commentary on it, but no real meat. However, it seems that Google may be going public--and me with no money to buy stock. Damn.

Oooh, CD332 just wished me good luck on singing tonight, and urged me to "sing freely". I will, I will. *grin*

Hey, Jazz, Malloc, SCAScot, have you guys noted that you can't scroll down a letter using the arrow keys if it's in HTML? Or is that a problem with my ergo keyboard? Or is it a universal Mac thang?

A lead on a job with Bose... ooh, do they give employee discounts? Called to schedule an interview, got a machine, left a message.

I finally broke down and renewed my paid membership to Webshots--now you can go look at my photos under member name ehowe9.

What the hell, might as well renew my DOMAI(NOTE: NOT WORK SAFE!) subscription, too while I'm at it.

mmm...Bose

Good luck with that!
I almost took a job with a Bose outlet down here, and as i remember they had a fairly persuasive employee discount offer. Problem being that the job would soon only exist to support my sound equipment habit, and i'd have to wait tables at night to pay rent.

I made a point of adding that so that you would see it, Buzzy.

Need to fix your DOMAI link by adding a "http://" in front...

Scroll down a letter? You mean, like in Mail? You have to tab to select the preview pane, not the message list pane, and then your scroll arrows should work.

At least, that's how it works for those of us still using Jaguar (10.2.8)...

No, I mean when you have "opened" a letter in a second window. If the letter is in HTML, you can't use the arrow keys to scroll up and down the page. You can use the arrow keys if it's plain text.

And yes, same thing happened in Jaguar. I was hoping Panther would fix that.

And as for the DOMAI link, I think I need to put a NWPF warning on it, too. Thanks.

Hrm... Actually, I can't scroll either when I open an email in a second window. HTML or plain text. I never open my mail in a second window, however, so I never noticed it.

Weird.
