My day so far
Nov. 22nd, 2003 04:58 pmWarning: tedious details of my lesbian lifestyle (AKA 'Dyke Drama') follows. Deal with it, or move down your friends' page and read the tedious details of someone else's life.
For those that didn't get the news back in early October, Techi and I broke up. It was amicable, and based on reasons I won't go into here in a public journal. Suffice to say that we felt that we had grown apart, and that our interests were batter served as friends rather than lovers.
It didn't last long. We've been re-evaluating our relationship, and have decided to reconcile, contingent upon some changes in our lives.
On the whole that's good.
Today we went out to do some errands, and while we were out, we went into CompUSA. BAD consumers, BAD! I have a shiny CompUSA credit card. ("oooh, shiney!") And there they were, those handsome black boxes with the brushed steel X on the front.
[Homer mode=ON] "Mmmm, OS X.iii..." *drool* [Homer mode=OFF]
It's installing now. I'm on my laptop. *grin*
Nice thing we found out at the register: 6 months no interest, no payment. Too bad I can't buy airline tickets with it.
Other things bought today: wireless connection devices for my laptop and such.
Not airport, but close enough for Techi. We are --
excuse me, need to insert disc 2 to continue OS X.iii install.
Hrrmmm...interesting: The pop-up box had a button that said "cancel" on it, but no "continue" button. Good thing I'm the sort to read all instructions rather than just jump right in, huh?
Anyway, where was I? Oh yes...wireless connectivity. Please don't ask me what kind it is. It's the kind Techi chose to try out. From what I understand, we may not be able to have wireless internet connectivity in this house due to horsehair plaster walls, which include lead, and make it damn difficult for the invisible magical rays to penetrate the walls.
So we have saved the receipts for it all, just in case.
In other news, I have a replacement set of glasses, and so I can now do small fine needlework again. Perle Vison has a nice set of cheap frames, and so I have a perfectly serviceable pair of glasses. I made a point of looking for a lanyard to hold my glasses around my neck, so I don't lose them again so easily. The woman there showed me some and recommend a brand with a good rubber boot to hold the arms, not the ones with the elastic loop because they stretch. I asked how much, and she gave them to me for free. Total outlay, $160.00 or so, US.
*glances at Mac* "Processing Traditional Chinese", it says.
While I would love to be working on my NaNoWriMo, I don't have a copy on this laptop.
Oh, I am looking forward to Expose...
whoa, it seems to be done. Let's give it a whirl, shall we?

I just remembered that you hung out with Kralk for a weekend. Remind me never to eat at your house. Especially anything deep fried.
...Oh, I am looking forward to Expose...

Date: 2003-11-24 06:22 pm (UTC)Wow.
I have missed this wonderful news, apparently, in the downtime over the last week. I'm very glad to hear it, and I wish you luck, patience and understanding that will see you grow happily together for many years to come.
