It's happening. I was warned about this.
Dec. 4th, 2002 08:05 amIt's happening. That damn thing is calling to me. I sit at my computer, and I can hear it whimpering, begging for either euthenasia or surgery.
Yes, my NaNovel is talking to me.
Don't look at me like that. You spend a mnth either feeling guilty for not keeping up with the alotted 2000 words per day quota, or maddly typing drivel as fast as you can touch type and ignoring spelling errors and see if you don't begin anthropomorphising the (un)finished product.
It's that damn ninja, I swear! What's with ninjas and NaNoWriMo, anyway? Hell if I know. But Remus remarked that one of the suggestions someone had made was if you get stuck, add a random ninja or two. He said it worked. So I tried it. And yeah, it did work.
Now I have to figure out how the hell it got there, who sent it, what the motive was, and add that to the mix. I have a suspicion it's gonna involve The Blackships festival somehow.
Oh, and I am relearning to use hyphens and not to space between compound words to up my word count. And I think my typing had definately improved.
All in all, NaNoWriMo was a hell of a learning experience. And yes, I am going to be doing it again next year. I want to get as many folks involved as possible.
Now, about the holidays. Not sure why, but I am in a very good mood. Perhaps it's due to the walks I've been taking at work. I have been less likely to be irritated by callers and their ignorance and stupidity.
Christmas Music has been playing on the radio on the way to work, and I have enjoyed singing along. I REALLY need to sing in a choir or chorus again. Gods, I would LOVE to be in a group of singers.
Handel's Messiah. Oh, my, yes...sometimes there are "Messiah Sing Alongs"in the area. I should look out for them.
LIfe is good.
AW.
