On Risk taking
Nov. 3rd, 2003 09:56 pmMy grandmother used to tell me:
"Edie, Don't be afraid of the unknown. Take a chance. Columbus did!"
I used to live by that. But I can't remember the last time I said that, or thought it.
Take a chance. Columbus did.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
I'm seriously considering making a big change to my NaNoWriMo novel. George would have to wait for another time to have his life story told.
I think I'm going to write poetry.
A
Lot
of
Poetry.
Gods.
Take a chance, Edie, Columbus did.
(to which fuzzy replied: and what did it get him, it got his brother eaten, that's what it got)

I don't really know where I heard this, (apart from it wasn't from family)
Date: 2003-11-05 01:39 am (UTC)Of course, these things are always easier said than actually done.
To do it usually requires _real_ courage, and sometimes you have to look really, really hard to find it ;-)
good luck!
