Leave my friends out of this!
Oct. 22nd, 2003 10:37 amThere are times when the universe takes a distinct dislike to me, I think. I feel as if my life is slipping down the drain, headed for the sewers.
As you know, my car died, I lost my job, and my girlfriend and I have decided to end our relationship as lovers. Now it seems that's not enough. Bad things are happening to my friends, as well.
I got word that a friend of mine tried to commit suicide last week. She's ok, in good care, and is regrowing a love for life.
As you know, I was in a Renn Faire for the last couple of months. Two men, Travis and Mike, were performers there as well, singers. I sold my mother's old autoharp to Mike. They are talented guys.
Last Sunday was the last day of the faire. After it closed, we all met at Penners, the local meet-up joint. Mike and Travis joined our table. We left early.
I just found out that when they left, they were in a car accident. Here is the latest information on them:
Mike and Travis live in New Hampshire. They would drive down to the south-east corner of Mass. each weekend to perform at King Richard's Faire.
If you pray, kindly say a prayer for them. They will need all the help they can get.
Thanks.
Edie

"Ok...here's the scoop right from Mike. They were driving home, Travis was driving, mike was asleep in the passenger seat. Apparently Travis dozed off, they both woke up when the truck entered "No Man's Land" between the lanes. The vehicle started to flip, neither was wearing a seat belt and they were thrown from the car. They lie there a while until someone called 911. Mike has a broken bone in his neck, broke his spine, a punctured lung and "a mess of busted ribs". He was about to be fitted with a collar when I spoke to him. He hasn't been able to see Travis while there. Travis broke both his hips, and ruptured his bladder and colon. According to Mike, Travis' parents say they are keeping him pretty drugged up. Mike would DEFINATELY love visitors and phone calls. He isn't sure if Travis will be able to receive them. I am supposed to talk to Mike in a few hours when he is done being fitted for collars and braces. He is very scared, but thrilled because according to the dr's, though they have a VERY long road ahead of them, both should be able to walk and keep performing. I'll post more when I know it."
