One of my first attempts at B&W photography. Manipulated with Adobe Lightroom to bring out more contrast. Used red Hoya 25A filter, as well.

I see incredible possibilities here, folks.

Very good, but you need to "dodge" the oversaturated black shadow that is the side of the mountain. In a traditional darkroom, you would do this by intermittently putting your hand or some cardboard between the negative and the paper when you are making the print, so that you don't overexpose the area.

In Photoshop, you use the Dodge/Burn tool.

I suggest this because your picture is overwhelmed by this big black hole in the center of it. Basically, you want to lighten the shadow to bring out some of the detail, but not so much that you loose the fact that there's a shadow there.

If you like, when I get home tonight, I can download a copy of the picture, make the correction, and show you what I mean.
