My friend Thena wrote this as an ending to a recent entry in her live journal. And while I am sure that you could very easily go there and read it for yourself, I wanted to include it here because... well, because....just because, goddammit, ok? I thinks it's gorgeous. I think it speaks for a part of me that wants the very same thing, and since she said it so bloody well, I want to steal her string of pretty words to decorate my live journal. How 'bout them apples?

"I was daydreaming the other evening, and it seems so very telling about the madness into which the world is now descending, that I should fantasize about this: I would like the sun to come out for awhile. I would like it to be warm outside - not too hot, not too cold, a little breeze but not too windy, with little fluffy clouds high up in a bright blue sky. And I would like to take a big blanket and a bunch of friends and a backpack full of good food up on a grassy hillside, and spread out the blanket, and have a picnic, and bring guitars and drums and flutes and make some music. And then perhaps go for a hike under the trees, or sprawl in the grass and take a nap, or just sit around talking about pleasant things - no politics, no bickering, no war reports, none of that stuff. Just happy silly things. And then perhaps break out the paints and make paint each other - and then dispense with paper and canvas and REALLY paint each other, being silly. And blow some soap bubbles and watch them float away on the breeze, catching the warm spring light."

"Patience, Camile, spring will soon be here."

(smile) Summed up well. Captured right there is much of what is worth fighting for in life, by all the means that we do it.
