Well, it's been a while since I've updated my journal. Summer is winding down, thankfully. Days are noticably shorter, and the mornings are foggy and cool. Afternoons are not as desicating as they were, and nights are pleasant for sleeping again. Cool dry air is perfect.

I've been promoted to "Team Leader"; More responsibility, and not enough money, really, to make it worth all the extra work. But that's the way to a management position, and so I accepted the offer. I will not be performing at KRF this year, and that breaks my heart.

We're also at 6 days a week, because the summer help is leaving in droves. I'll have only one day off next week. I plan on trying the Snow Creek Trail once more. I think that is one of the longest hikes I've done so far. I've tried twice, and both days didn't make it to the top because I started too late. On Tuesday, I plan on leaving early in the morning, around 6 or so, and getting a good start before it gets hot.

One of the reasons I want to do this trail is to test out my new backpack. We had an employee-only sale yesterday, and I got a beautiful Lowe Alpine Sirrocco I model for $71! It was marked $239. I also bought a bear canister, but paid full price for it. It's one of those things you MUST have to hike in the back country. Bears are an issue out there--they steal food all the time. I've seen lots of bear scat on the Snow Creek Trail.

I plan to make it to the top of North Dome, at least. Will take lots of pictures, and post them to my flickr account.

Oh, Jazz & Amber? I have your wedding gift. When is a good time to send it?

Speaking of gifts, Reynardo and I seem to have a temporary truce in the postcard war. Only temporary, though. How did you like the DVD postcard? Also, I received the pocket calendar of Au. birds--wow! they are spectacular. Thank you! Watch your mail for a desk calendar in the next week or so.

I miss my son, and hope he's able to read this. Jay, love you lots, and miss you terribly. I hope you're having a good time at faire, but remember, you need to get a job and soon.

I'm hoping I can get back to RI in late October to pick up some needful things. Winter clothes, and my car would be favorite.

Love,
Edie
