So damn close

On a lark, I tested my phone line to see if the DSL had been actvated; it had. However, it seems my DSL ethernet box (it's not a modem, dammit!)is hosed. I called tech support, spoke with Mary, and we tried for an hour to get it going. She's sending me a new one, and it should be here tomorrow. In the mean time, I'm trying to get my car road ready; wheel cylinder on the right wheel is leaking, and so I'm having it replaced. Brakes are really important when driving on mountain roads.

Friday I hope to have front end aligned, and buy new tires.

Holy cow. I'm on the net. REALLY on the net.

Last night, my ethernet box wasn't working. Today it is. I'm on the net. Not on wireless in the cafeteria, but on the net, on my own DSL. 1375 articles on my RSS reader. 158 emails and climbing. I'm hope, Auntie Em, I'm home!
