Thought for the day

I used to think car alarms were useless. I mean, who calls the police just because a car alarm goes off? Irritating, yes. Theft deterrent? Debatable.

But it seems they serve a purpose here in Yosemite Valley: They scare off bears who try to break into cars for food.

Something to keep in mind if you come to Yosemite.

I'd still advise cleaning your interior thoroughly and taking all foodstuff and scented items to the bear lockers, though.
