Bless the beasts and the coders...
Jun. 6th, 2006 10:20 pmOver 7 gigs of images were lost when my 60gb hard drive crashed and burned. But, I'm a compulsive Flickr user, and so I knew I had access to them online. That's good. But Flickr doesn't have an option to DL images in batches. over 6K images all told, private and public, and I'd have to download them all by hand.
Not a happy prospect.
So, I hit the Flickr suggestion forum. And like the CLUI Ubernubie that I am, I searched for "download sets". Over two hundred topics already. Most of which had been locked by admin. WTF? Opened one, and at the end there was a message to try "Flickr Backup".
Oh, sweet and merciful Kwan Yin, what a joyful little java app. Neat, simple and oh, gods, it's loading all my pics right now, and gods above and below, I am a happy Mac camper.
Back up to CD is going to happen. Or DVD. No more lost images.
*Gleeful happy dance!*
