Jun. 27th, 2004 10:11 amRemember that Mockingbird that was singing this morning at 1 AM? This morning as Techi and I were sitting on the porch enjoying a cup of coffee, she said that she heard a mocking bird singing at 7 AM--and it wa singing the song of auto alarms.
jazzmasterson once mentioned to me that in New York, the mockingbirds would sing car alarms--I suspect that bird has come up from New York. Where else would it learn to be awake at 1 AM in the morning?
As we sat there in the dappled shade of the maple, ash and chestnut trees, it began singing from the chimney of the house across the street--and sure enough, it was singing the song of the car alarm.
Gotta love it.
