Today is the first day of rehearsals for King Richard's Fair and I am hyped!

Wasn't sure if I would be performong this year or not--it's a big commitment, and I wasn't sure I wanted every weekend eaten up with rehearsals and performances until October.

But I had such fun last year, and I wanted to do it again this year--it gives me purpose.

Not sure who I will play next year. Andrew says that I could play "royal", but I really enjoy playing "Aditi Risa, Gypsy Scum".

But then, that does show a certain cultural insensitivity to the Romany--and I am not sure I want to piss them off. I may play "Aditi Risa, Queen of the Romany".

For the Pagans among us, I wish you a blessed Lughnasadh. In Celtic mythology, this is the day that Lugh commemorated his foster mother's death from exhaustion after being forced to clear a forest and plant a field. Learn more here: "Lughnasadh": Kathleen Dupree.

Thanks again to SCAScot for ripping to MP3.

FYI, that really is yerz trooly singing.

So I'm off to get some breakfast, and some lunch supplies. Wish me a broken leg!
